Diagnosis

When the pack that sells at home stalls in the US

Entering the US is not about translating a label. It means deciding again what reads first, for whom, and on which shelf.

  • The pack was designed for another shelf.Hierarchy, claims and sizes built for the home market get lost next to US competitors.
  • Translation arrives last and breaks the layout.English and Spanish do not take the same space. Pasting the second language at the end overloads the label and buries the brand.
  • Mandatory information has no home.Nutrition Facts, dual net quantity and allergens show up late and end up covering what sells.
  • The brand does not know who it is talking to.Nostalgia for the Latino shopper or appeal to the general market? Without that decision, the pack lands halfway and connects with neither.

Method

One system, every version

When a brand crosses the border, versions multiply: languages, units of measure, sizes and channels. Designed piece by piece, each version is a new project. A system defines brand, variant, hierarchy and grid rules once, and every new version follows in days.

We have worked with flexo, gravure, offset and digital printing for more than 16 years. The files we deliver go to press without surprises, in the US or in the country of origin.

01Brand

What never changes across markets.

02Language

English, Spanish or bilingual.

03Hierarchy

What the shopper reads first.

04Grid

Technical base and mandatory information.

FAQ

What brands ask us before starting

If your question is not here, write to us and we will review it with your pack in hand.

What does a Hispanic packaging design agency do?+

It designs packaging for brands that sell to Hispanic and Latino consumers in the United States, or for Latin American brands entering the US. That means bilingual or Spanish-first labels, cultural codes that feel authentic rather than clichéd, and US labeling requirements built into the layout. GRAFITECK is a Latin American packaging studio that has done this for brands such as Pharcomed and its Tricovit hair care line, Rooster Call Coffee and Terraliss.

Do you design bilingual English and Spanish packaging?+

Yes. We design English-only, Spanish-first and fully bilingual versions from one master file. We translate and adapt the copy, then rebalance the hierarchy so the second language does not crowd out the brand. Your team or importer gives final approval on the text.

Can you design FDA-compliant labels?+

We build the Nutrition Facts panel, dual net quantity (metric and US customary), ingredient list and allergen statements into the design from the first sketch, so they fit without hiding what sells. Final regulatory sign-off stays with you or your regulatory advisor; we design to their checklist.

How much does packaging design for the US market cost?+

It depends on the number of SKUs, the number of language versions and whether you need a new brand or an adaptation of packaging that already sells. After a first call we send a phased proposal with defined deliverables so you can compare it with other studios on equal terms.

Can you adapt our Latin American packaging for the US instead of redesigning it?+

Usually, yes. We audit what already builds recognition, keep it, and adapt what the US shelf demands: language, claims, hierarchy, sizes and formats. Starting from zero is rarely the right call for a brand that already sells.

Where is GRAFITECK based, and can you work with a US team remotely?+

Our design studio is in Bogotá, Colombia, in a time zone aligned with US Eastern and Central time. We work by video call, share approvals on 3D renders, and coordinate prepress with your printer in the US or in the country of origin.

Do you also create e-commerce and Amazon images?+

Yes. From the same system we produce photorealistic 3D renders, Amazon and marketplace images, and short product videos made with 3D and AI, so the pack sells as a thumbnail as well as on the shelf.

How fast do you reply?+

Within one business day, with scope, phases and timing. If the project is not a fit for us, we will tell you that too.
